Chicken Pox

Just to let you know that there has been a couple of cases of chicken pox in Room 24. Nothing to be alarmed about, but if your child starts to gets itchy bumps on their skin, it is advised to take them for a visit to the doctor... just in case.

Kind regards and best holidays wishes

Pirate Party on Friday

Room 24 were so good at bringing back their books this week, the librarian said that Room 24 can take a book out for the holidays! Congratulations Room 24!

As a reward to the class for their fabulous manners and effort in school work we are going to have a pirate party tomorrow for afternoon tea.

I will bring in enough treats for the class but you are very welcome to bring in any food to share or a costume to wear, if you feel like it.

Aaargh and shiver me timbers!

Gala Day

Thank you for coming out to support Arahoe School at Gala Day. Your support for our school in greatly appreciated. Didn't you just love the fairies!

Writing

We loved reading about what Philip and Edward have been up to around school. Finlay wrote a recount on his day out on a boat with his family. We liked his simile on how the wake of the boat looked like a whale's tail.

Pirate Show

Shiver me timbers, boy did we have fun today. Two pirates came to school to tell us about the hard... but exciting lives of pirates. We heard songs, facts, fibs and plenty of jokes.
What do you call a crab with seven legs? Eileen!

Who had a bath last month?

How many of you pick your nose?

Ahoi there, Star of the Day, Kellie!

Ahoi there, me matey!

Put this video on pause quickly to see the class in a video that was meant to be a photo.

Cartoon Art

We have been looking at how to draw cartoon art with simple lines and bold colours. Here's how we applied our learning to colourful pictures of sea art.

Next, we will look at realistic sea art and learn how to add shading and realistic colours. Watch our progress... it'll be up on the blog soon:)
